Belle
'Briar Rose Belle of the Ball'
Born 04/04/06
A 15" Black/Red/White beagle with ticking, our foundation bitch. She is from Field Champion lines with a few Show Champions further back in her pedigree. While dominant with other females, she had a good temperament and got along well with all creatures. She would mother any baby.
Regarding her health:
I rarely, if ever, had to clean her ears. She had a slight heart murmur as a young (6 weeks) puppy, that cleared up on it's own by the time she was 8 weeks. Her grandfather developed a mild murmur at age 10 that did not slow him down and he passed peacefully at age 12. She had a mild case of cherry eye that would come and go from about a year of age to about 3 years of age, it had not shown up since then. Out of 23 puppies, one has had a mild case of cherry eye, and one has had a more severe case that needed to be fixed. Also as a young puppy she had a slight flea sensitivity that caused her to scratch constantly if she even got one flea, flea preventative kept them off of her and she never had an issue since then. One of her puppies also had the sensitivity as a young puppy.
Embark tests were done and she was clear and not a carrier for all genetic diseases that they test for.
Belle passed away shortly after her 17th birthday - 04/14/23
Aurora
'Briar Rose Aurora Borealis'
Born 05/13/10
A 13" Black/Tan/White beagle, and the daughter of Belle. She had a great temperament and loved to run and jump. She was trained for scent work and tracking and did beautifully.
Regarding her health:
Her ears had to be cleaned a few times but were never particularly dirty. She had not had any health issues. Her Thyroid and Heart tests came back with good results.
Embark tests were done and she is clear and not a carrier for all genetic diseases that they test for.
Aurora was tragically lost before her time due to an accident at 14 years. She was still full of life - 09/05/24
Cinder
'Briar Rose Enchanted Slippers'
Born 11/04/17
A 15" Black/Tan/White beagle, daughter of Aurora. She is from Field Champion lines and was the sweetest dog ever, she always had to be touching her humans. She aced her obedience classes and was working on agility and tracking.
Regarding her health:
She had not had any health issues.
Embark tests were done and she is clear and not a carrier for all genetic diseases that they test for
Cinder was tragically lost before her time due to an accident at 7 years. She had so much left to give us - 07/30/24
Leia
'Briar Rose Lead The Resistance'
Born 05/18/23
A 15" faded Black/Tan/White beagle with ticking, daughter of Cinder. Her sire is a red/white. She is from Field Champion lines and must be in the middle of everything. She can be jealous/possessive of her people from other dogs but gets along well with them otherwise. Due to life circumstances, she did not get to enroll in any classes, but they are in her future! She is too smart for her own good, in typical beagle fashion.
Regarding her health:
She has not had any health issues. I rarely need to clean her ears and she has only been seen for regular check-ups.
